Connecting you with a devoted companion is our joy.

Every day we witness the incredible bond that forms between individuals and their service dog. These loyal and highly trained dogs provide not only practical assistance, but also an abundance of love, support and hope.

Building Connections

It takes a dedicated team, both outside and within the JLAD organization, to raise and train a service dog. From breeding, whelping, training and socializing, our dogs have a large community of passionate people who are committed to working hard and changing lives, one paw at a time.

Giving adults in custody a purpose to live more positive and productive lives, while contributing to the community as dedicated JLAD trainers.

Giving community members joy as volunteer socializers incorporate our service dogs into their daily lives.

Giving persons living with disabilities independence through companionship, practical assistance, support and hope.

Hear from our Paired Companions

Daniel & Hero

After years of struggle and pain caused by the severe head injury I received in service, I had lost hope in ever finding relief from my symptoms. My family was burdened with becoming an intensive care team for me because of the migraines. Going to the grocery store became too much as I struggled with several mental health issues, most of which was PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome). I struggled to adapt back to the civilian world and was left rejected by the military world. I lost my squad and felt alone. I tried every day to carve out a future for me and my family, though I felt that I was always coming up short.

Victoria & Eva

It is difficult to describe the depths of the ways that Eva has changed my life. She has made every moment better and returned my sense of self. Prior to getting her, every day was a struggle just to focus and be a “human”. I would wake up exhausted, filled with a sense of dread about the day. Nightmares kept me from feeling rested so I would drag myself to work fighting panic and flashbacks through the day. I would cry on my lunch breaks and feel like I couldn’t go on but never-ending bills and constantly increasing rent gave me no choice. On my way home I would fall apart and experience violent debilitating flashbacks. I would go to bed as soon as I got home and sleep fitfully through the night.
