Volunteering is a wonderful way to give back to the community, gain valuable experience, and connect with individuals who share a passion for dogs. We invite you to join our team and make a difference. Whether you have a few hours a week or just want to help out at events, there are ways you can get involved.
Become a Volunteer Socializer
We are always looking for socializers! As a socializer, you will open your home to a JLAD dog as if they were your own, in order to provide a solid foundation for them to grow into life-changing service dogs. When on a break from our prison training program, you will expose these dogs to various new environments, including a workplace, if permissible.
Socializer Responsibilities
- Attend weekly training classes
- Supply the basic essentials, such as food, bowls, crate, bed, leash and toys.
- Provide routine needs, including feeding, grooming, exercise and socialization.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
